“Thanks so much…memories are so much of who we are.”
This summer, my family traveled back to our Iowa roots for a family reunion and to give my mom a chance to check up on her four brothers. Our cousins so generously hosted seven of us in their home as well as throwing the big family reunion party. When they asked if I could do their family portraits, I was over the moon to have a way to give something back for their generosity! Of course, only being there for a few days and gathering four generations from around the state only added to the challenge and we ended up at high noon on the day of the reunion driving out to our beautiful reservoir location. High noon. I NEVER photograph at high noon. My time is the golden hour before sunset! Ha ha.
Boy did I learn to let my pre-conceived notions and habits go. The reservoir in town was a photographer’s dream and the winding road through the grounds gave every angle of beautiful light and shadow possible. The stars aligned and we made it happen.
And happen it did, beautifully.
Oh my gosh this is amazing, beautiful and over the top!!!! Love you!!!!!!
Beautiful, nothing beat the the beauty of home and family!
